Jelsa
Jelsa is the quiet side of Hvar: a green harbour town of stone squares and a palm-lined waterfront, with konobas that still cook the old way. Our first stop of the day: an hour to wander before lunch is served back on board.
Five generations at the helm · Podgora
A full day from Podgora to two islands aboard Borna, a classic wooden yacht. A morning stroll through Jelsa on Hvar, lunch served under way, then the afternoon swimming at Bol beneath Zlatni Rat.
Borna once served as a navy vessel for special-forces divers. She's been ours since 2015 and was completely rebuilt in 2025: a mahogany hull, tables and benches in solid ash, deep shade and room to spread out, for a relaxed group rather than a party crowd.
Three hours at Bol to swim off the bright shingle below Zlatni Rat and stretch out in the shade of the pines.
Brač and Hvar in a single trip, with no car to hire and no ferry times to chase. Step aboard in Podgora and we take care of the rest.
The family has been at the helm on this coast for five generations, and we've run this trip since 2000. Ask where to eat in Jelsa and you'll get a real answer.
The last leg runs along the Makarska Riviera with Biokovo turning gold behind Podgora. Most people go quiet for this part.
The crossings are short and calm, there's shade over the seats, and under-sixes sail free. We keep children's life jackets on board.

Zlatni Rat, the Golden Horn, is the long shingle spit off Bol that shifts shape with the wind and current. We tie up in Bol and you have three hours to swim off the bright pebbles and laze under the pines.
Meet us at Podgora harbour, find a spot on deck, and we slip the lines for Hvar.
A glass of homemade rakija to start and a coffee as Podgora drops astern, on the two-hour run over to Hvar.

Back on board for the ride along the Makarska Riviera toward Podgora.
Ashore in the late-afternoon light, salty and a little sun-tired.
Easily the best day of our week in Croatia. It's calm and unfussy, and you can tell the crew genuinely love being out on the water.
Swimming straight off the boat at the Golden Horn was the highlight for the whole family. The crew were endlessly patient with our two kids.
A proper wooden boat with real shade, and enough time in Jelsa that you never feel rushed. As a local, I came away impressed.
