Why sail with Borna?

  • An ex-navy boat, rebuilt in 2025

Borna once served as a navy vessel for special-forces divers. She's been ours since 2015 and was completely rebuilt in 2025: a mahogany hull, tables and benches in solid ash, deep shade and room to spread out, for a relaxed group rather than a party crowd.

  • Swimming & beach time at Bol

Three hours at Bol to swim off the bright shingle below Zlatni Rat and stretch out in the shade of the pines.

  • Two islands, one day

Brač and Hvar in a single trip, with no car to hire and no ferry times to chase. Step aboard in Podgora and we take care of the rest.

  • Fifth-generation captains

The family has been at the helm on this coast for five generations, and we've run this trip since 2000. Ask where to eat in Jelsa and you'll get a real answer.

  • The ride home at golden hour

The last leg runs along the Makarska Riviera with Biokovo turning gold behind Podgora. Most people go quiet for this part.

  • Easy with children

The crossings are short and calm, there's shade over the seats, and under-sixes sail free. We keep children's life jackets on board.

01

Jelsa

Jelsa is the quiet side of Hvar: a green harbour town of stone squares and a palm-lined waterfront, with konobas that still cook the old way. Our first stop of the day: an hour to wander before lunch is served back on board.

Bol & the Golden Horn

Zlatni Rat, the Golden Horn, is the long shingle spit off Bol that shifts shape with the wind and current. We tie up in Bol and you have three hours to swim off the bright pebbles and laze under the pines.

Swimming straight off the boat at the Golden Horn was the highlight for the whole family. The crew were endlessly patient with our two kids.

A proper wooden boat with real shade, and enough time in Jelsa that you never feel rushed. As a local, I came away impressed.

Good to know

Where does the boat leave from?

We leave from the harbour in Donja Podgora, on the Makarska Riviera, about 15 minutes south of Makarska town. Once you've booked, we send exact directions and where to meet the crew.

What time should I arrive?

Aim to be at the harbour by 08:15. We get everyone aboard, sort out life jackets for the little ones, and leave at 08:30.

Is lunch included?

Yes. A freshly cooked lunch is served on board, and you choose your main when you book: meat, fish or vegan. There's still free time in Jelsa afterwards for a coffee or a wander.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. The crossings are short and calm, there's plenty of shade, and under-sixes travel free. We keep children's life jackets on board in a few sizes.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the sea looks too rough to enjoy, we don't sail. You'll get another date or a full refund, no fuss. We usually make the call the evening before and message you.

How do I pay?

Online booking is on the way. For now, hold your seats by WhatsApp or message and pay the crew on the day, in cash or by card.
